A.U. Foundation, founded in 2013 by Mainul Haque, Dr. Mohammed Newaz Shoriful Hoque, and Dr. Farnas Mahin, is a non-profit organization based in Assam, India, with a noble mission to advance literacy and higher education, especially in rural regions, while also enhancing healthcare accessibility for undeserved communities. Registered under the Assam Society Registration Act 1960 with registration number 1259/IV/252, the foundation operates with a dedicated group of trustees overseeing its activities.

The cornerstone of A.U. Foundation's endeavors lies in establishing schools and colleges in rural areas, aiming to provide high-quality education to empower individuals and communities. By extending educational opportunities far and wide, the foundation endeavors to bridge the gap between urban and rural educational standards, fostering a brighter future for the nation's youth.

Moreover, A.U. Foundation is deeply committed to addressing healthcare disparities in rural India. Recognizing the challenges faced by rural populations in accessing quality healthcare services, the foundation has embarked on a multifaceted approach to improve healthcare outcomes. One pivotal initiative is the establishment of a network of primary healthcare centers, strategically located to ensure accessibility for low-income households in Nagaon and surrounding areas. These centers offer accountable, affordable, and accessible primary healthcare services, thereby reducing out-of-pocket expenditure for rural families by at least 50%. This initiative not only addresses immediate healthcare needs but also contributes to poverty alleviation and socioeconomic development in rural communities.

In addition to direct service provision, A.U. Foundation is committed to advancing healthcare through research and innovation. The foundation houses an Action Research Institute dedicated to designing, developing, implementing, and standardizing evidence-based interventions aimed at building an integrated health system. One pioneering initiative of the institute is the creation of a new cadre of health professionals known as "Health Coaches," who serve as the first point of contact for healthcare needs in rural areas. This innovative approach enhances healthcare accessibility and empowers communities to take charge of their health and well-being.

Central to A.U. Foundation's ethos is the principle of serving with empathy and bringing joy to the lives of those they serve. Guided by a set of core values, including innovation for impact, excellence, fairness, honesty, shared ownership, and being the change they wish to see, the foundation strives to create a culture of compassion, integrity, and accountability in all its endeavors. All programs and interventions are designed to uphold these values, ensuring that the foundation's impact is not only tangible but also sustainable in the long term.

Crucially, A.U. Foundation operates on a donation-based model, wherein participants are encouraged to contribute according to their means and inclination. This approach fosters a sense of ownership and collective responsibility, empowering stakeholders to actively participate in the foundation's mission and contribute to positive social change.

In summary, A.U. Foundation stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for rural communities in Assam and beyond. Through its unwavering commitment to education, healthcare, and community empowerment, the foundation continues to make a profound and lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals, laying the groundwork for a brighter, more equitable future for all.
